James Wade and Jonny Clayton set up a semi -final collision on Saturday night after the duo were winning Thursday night at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens.
Wade received eight consecutive legs for a 16-13 victory against Jane Van Wayne, while Clayton Stephen was comprehensive in winning the 16-7 on Bunting.
The win has put Wade in its 10th match play semi -finals and is also marking back toback Sams in its 20th consecutive exhibition in the Black Pool, defeating Luke Humphrez’s final winner in World No. 5 2024.
Meanwhile, Clayton is included in his second Winter Gardens Sammy, returning for the first time in 2023 when he finally lost to Nathan spinel in the final.
The semi-final will identify the 30th meeting between the pair, with Clayton winning the winning statistics 16-13 in his favor.
The second semi -finals will be decided on Friday night as Luke Liller is facing Andrew Golding and Garvin Price competed with Josh Rock, straight Sky Sports.
