BOSTON – The Red Sox and the Dodgers brought starred teams in a long -awaited confrontation in the 2018 World Series.
The Red Sox won the battle in five games while the Dodgers have won two titles over the years since then. The teams are separated by only five victories this season when they started a series of three games in Fenway Park on Friday.

The Dodgers remain real contenders in the championship in their quest to repeat while the Red Sox have more to overcome if they are really heading for their first appearance in the playoffs since 2021.

Dodgers: Pitching health
Los Angeles fought against injuries in the rotation and enclosure of the readers last year when the team still managed to win everything. This time, dodgers already have more than 10 arms on the injured list.
Without doubt the most talented team in baseball does not need crazy detention for an October push. Dodgers just need healthy launchers.
“Wounds are injuries,” said Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts. “We always think that we have enough talents right now so that we are better in the enclosure of the lifts.”
The manager of the Red Sox, Alex Cora, agrees.
“They are very talented,” said Cora. “They have the best athlete in the universe by playing for them. One of the best baseball players in the League (Mookie Betts) is not an excellent season and still contributes. The first basic player is a temple of fame (Freddie Freeman).”
Red Sox: starting launcher / first base
The Red Sox have a solid start -up pitch with an ace in Garrett Crochet and improved seasons by Brayan Bello and Lucas Giolito. Boston could still use another front line starter to associate with the top and open his peloton players by finally finding a first full -time player on the commercial market after Triston Casas suffered a knee injury at the end of the season in May.
Cora certainly understands this process as the deadline approach and what Boston is able to know if the director of baseball Craig Breslow can add reinforcements.
“Each year is different,” said Cora. “You look around and everyone is in the same boat, the national league and the American league. Whoever makes decisions in charge of baseball operations, it is their work. It is not easy because of the additional joker and all this. There is a lot of work to do.”
Roberts, a former Red Sox player, includes the pressure that accompanies the game for the franchise.
“By far, certainly high expectations still here in Boston,” said Roberts. “Trade (Rafael) has been a big problem. There are a lot of young players, talented players who have opportunities. They had a slightly radiator.”
