Denver: The US Airlines flight for Miami was stopped on the runway after a sudden fire during a take -off, after which passengers were evacuated from the aircraft via emergency slides.
The aircraft had 173 passengers and 6 crew members. According to aviation officials, the incident occurred due to a landing gear malfunction. As soon as the aircraft reached the speed of take -off, loud sounds came and smoke started growing, after which the pilot immediately stopped the take -off.
Immediately the rescue teams arrived at the airport and the fire was extinguished. One passenger suffered minor injuries, while the rest remained safe. Talking to ABC News, a passenger said that everyone was nervous to see fire and smoke.
The airline apologized for the incident, stating that passengers were sent to Miami by alternative flight, while the original aircraft was being removed from service and was thoroughly investigated.
