As an IT agency recruiter I think it is my role that my customers cannot find themselves. It is not only about looking at less clear places for passive talent, it is also about asking the correct question that detects the gold that is on the CV.
One of the small joys I get is looking for a candidate who did not look like fit while reading his CV, but facing the face to face interviews and chat through various scenarios shows that their attitude and ability to quickly learn their vision and ability, more and more for alleged decrease in a particular technical field.
Employers can also do this. Asking the correct question, digging a little deep, feeling the candidate to shine in the interview can be comfortable and put forward your best leg that can expose the talent that was not clear from the CV.
So we enter video interviews with our candidates. Our customers get to see how they present themselves and can see a skill beyond cloud and documented experience, to realize who the person is really and what they fit.
If you are struggling with finding the right IT people, then you have to look at your entire process – sourcing, shortlisting and interview. Good candidates can fall through the crack, if you are completely relying on CV, to determine who you will consider for the role.
