Treatrice in Bergen County shakes certain parts of New Jersey, New York

An earthquake in the county of Bergen rocked certain parts of New Jersey and New York on Saturday evening. This is the second earthquake in New Jersey in less than two weeks.

At 10:18 p.m., an earthquake recorded 3.0 on the Richter scale was recorded in Hasbrouck Heights.

The Richter scale varies from 1 to 9, 1 being the weakest and 9 being the strongest.

Treatrice of the New Jersey felt in New York, Lower Hudson Valley

Although relatively low, the earthquake was felt as far as 65 miles, reaching the Western Connecticut and Hudson’s lower valley. Many New York residents and around New York reported that they also felt the rumble.

No damage has been reported so far, although replicas can occur in the coming days.

This last earthquake occurs in the heels of a series of small earthquakes centered on the Morris Plains region in New Jersey on July 21 and 22.
