Transparency in welfare programs, committed to accountability: Tariq Fazal

Islamabad, (Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News – 26th July 2025) for Parliamentary Affairs, the Federal Ministry, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said on Saturday that the government is committed to transparency, accountability and public welfare in all its social support programs.

Speaking to a private news channel, he clarified that the government’s cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP) is based on the common objectives of supporting weak communities, especially women and children.

Commenting on recent discussions around the purchase, he said that the procedure was not followed by the Public Purchase Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules, the process was not followed, leaving the wings before the Government of Pakistan originated.

Not that, that the project was done independently by WFP, but the use of US owners needs strict adherence to local rules.

He further stated that the matter has currently been reviewed by the relevant parliamentary standing committee, which will assess standard procedures. He emphasized that all government decisions are subjugated to establish rules and inspection mechanisms to enter accountability.

He also said that Pakistan’s partnership with international organizations such as WFP and IMF has been incorporated by Pakistan’s partnership, which are spread with the Parser and have made meaningful contradictions for national welphre efforts. He reiterated the government’s resolve to strengthen such cooperations by ensuring effective and transparent service distribution to the needy people.
