The eclipse season is on us and the hit keeps coming. This week’s New Moon in Libra is also a horoscope solar eclipse, especially indicating emotional awakening and coming and moving consciousness around partnership, cooperation, marriage and other face-to-face relations. The Sun and Moon will meet on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 2:49 pm at 10 degrees, 3 minutes Libra zodiac, which sets new 30-day and two and a half years cycles in the Libra house of your Natal chart.
One of the most interesting (and delightful) characteristics of the New Moon Eclips Chart is a large old mystic rectangle in the earth and water, which is spread in heaven, Saturn in Pisces, Mars in Cancer, Vesta in Veda, Vesta, and out-off-bounds in Capricorn in its corners. Mystic verses indicate us to the talents that we are to use in this lifetime. When they are in fire and air, they suggest time to determine the goals, imagine. When they are in the earth and water, in this way, they direct us to immediate, practical action.
Two of the four corners of the rectangle – Mars and Saturn – are traditionally considered “maleist” planets, as they rule with the effortful or cold or “dark” aspects of our experience: work, struggles, boundaries, tasks, discipline, control. But it is not twisted. Carl Jung was perfect – we really need our shadow side, which can offer us safety and true perfection.
By accepting ourselves unconditionally, by integrating the shadow more and more consciously in one’s own spirit (as the eclipse energy of this week invites us to do it!), We are strong, more effective and more self-respecting-and less are willing to convict or condemn others. Jung wrote: “The best political, social and spiritual work we can do is to withdraw the projection of our shadow on others.” This planet is a terrible time on Earth, but we can each share our share to improve it.
Ceres, The Mother Earth Devi Asteroid, is the fourth corner of the mystic rectangle. She has been out in Capricorn for some time, and her interaction with the man actually makes her creative power-charged. Now keep those roots down, so when harvest-time comes, there will be a lot of yield in your garden to feed yourself, your loved ones and your community.
Shani and Mars are also talking to the goddess of Love of Love in the New Moon Eclips Chart, making a grand Trin in the water. Venus is currently a particularly powerful partner in Libra as the ruler of the Sun and Moon (as well as Mercury, Juno, and South Node in Libra, and Taurus) Venus. And, being in Scorpio, she is also fierce and is engaged with shadow. Venus in Scorpio seeks peace and emotional clarity through highlighting the mysteries – turning on stones or penetrating into a microscope, keeping life in mind around and through it.
Was there a big disclosure on Meen Purnima about two weeks ago in your life? Now is the time to examine and integrate that experience. If doubt, call Venus! She wants you to feel the feeling of confidence and security that is really at the core of your specific desires.
Generally, astrologers ask people not to take a big life decision on the eclipse, because there is an inherent element of unexpectedness. Whatever situation you are dealing with right now, you know that there are many, many elements outside your control – and for this we should surrender.
Additionally, it stops the story from the eclipses of March and April. Then the story that was opened wants to wrap it now!
However, what we can always do, consciousness is applied – and eclipses also help with it, as they bring things to light! Note what you notice, see what you see, and embrace the perfection of your human nature.
