“I didn’t think I was pregnant because I never had my period and had a baby six months ago“Said the 30 -year -old Nowsweek.
Machado had even passed a pregnancy test a month earlier, which returned negative. But, when another month passed without a sign of the cycle, she decided to test again.
“I was in shock and I didn’t know how far I would be,” said Machado. She said later Nowsweek that she already had 13 weeks at the time of the video.
There may be several reasons for the undetected pregnancy of Machado. Although home pregnancy tests are generally accurate, false negatives can occur, especially at the beginning of pregnancy.
Tests too early, improper use and diluted urine are among the most common reasons for a false negative result.
Recently postpartum women Can also have erratic hormone levels, which makes timing and interpretation more complicated.
Although it may seem incredible, it is medically documented that some women do not realize that they are pregnant for weeks, even months.
Known as cryptic pregnancies, they often occur in women with irregular cycles, recent births or a minimum of early symptoms. Hormonal fluctuations, in particular postpartum, can mask more signs of a new pregnancy.
The Machado clip has been seen more than 3.7 million times and has received more than 104,000 likes. The legend reads as follows: “When everyone knew I was pregnant … except me.”

The mother of two said that the reaction of the video has more than doubled his number of followers.
“I realized that not knowing to what extent you are is more common than knowing at four weeks pregnant with comments,” said Machado.
Machado added that she had become pregnant when her first daughter was about 5 months old.
