Islamabad:
The United States has imposed a 19 % tariff on Pakistani products after a 10 % reduction, which is the lowest among other regional countries including India.
According to a new tariff list released by the United States, 25 %of India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Taiwan have been imposed. Thus, Pakistan has won the most priority situation compared to the largest South Asian countries in trade with the United States.
A statement released by the Finance Ministry on Friday expressed happiness that the new tariff reflects a balanced policy by US authorities and provides Pakistan a competitive position with South and Southeast Asian countries.
The Finance Ministry is determined after close consultation with the concerned stakeholders that the current tariff agreement will provide an important opportunity to expand Pakistan’s presence in the US market. Finance sources say that US exports in US tariffs in Pakistan are expected to increase in US exports.
The new tariff deal will provide tax concessions to the United States to make new investment, in addition to the SIFC’s assistance in finalizing the trade deal with the United States to the United States, it is also an effective and active foreign policy of the head of Marshall General Syed Asim Munir, a region of army staff along with US President Donald Trump.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s effective contact with US officials and successful high -level meetings of Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb have also played an important role in this progress.
Tariff rates picked by the US government are South Africa, Switzerland 39 percent, Turkey and Israel 15 percent, Canada 35 percent, Britain, Brazil, Facland Island is 10 percent, Myanmar, Laos 40 percent, Syria is 30 percent at 41 percent.
Pakistan Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Cambodia are among 19 percent tariffs.
