A house surveillance subcommittee voted on Wednesday to assign the Ministry of Justice to publish Jeffrey Epstein’s files.
The request was adopted by a vote of 8-2. In particular, three GOP legislators – representatives Nancy Mace, Scott Perry and Brian Jack – joined the Democrats in the subcommittee to approve the assignment, defying republican management.
The chairman of the James Comer Chamber’s supervisory committee must sign the assignment before he can officially be issued, according to the rules of the Committee. Comer plans to register for the assignment, a source of republican commission said in ABC News.
The best Democrat in the subcommittee, the representative Summer Lee, initially offered the motion.

The Republicans of the Committee postponed and modified the assignment to also include the communications of managers of the Biden and DOJ administration. These officials include Bill and Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Robert Mueller, William Barr, Jeff Sessions and Alberto Gonzales.
The representative of the surveillance classification, Robert Garcia, said in a statement that the subcommittee of the subcommittee on Wednesday “was only the first step towards responsibility, and we will continue to put pressure for the truth”.
“Today, the surveillance of the Democrats fought for transparency and responsibility in Epstein files and won. The Republicans of the Chamber did not make things easy, but the motion was finally adopted to force the Ministry of Justice to release Epstein files,” said Garcia.
The news comes the same day as the chairman of the Chamber’s supervisory committee, Comer published a summons on Wednesday to Ghislaine Maxwell, the condemned partner of Jeffrey Epstein, for a deposition to the Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee on August 11.
“The facts and circumstances surrounding the affairs of your and Epstein have received a huge public interest and a meticulous exam,” Comer wrote in a statement on Wednesday.
Maxwell was found guilty of sex trafficking and other charges and sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022.
“What we are talking about here is someone who is in federal prison on appeal, so our lawyers will have to communicate with his lawyers to see if there are terms, if she wants,” said commerce before the publication of the assignment. “If there are no terms, we will get there quickly.”
The situation will be similar to the efforts of Comer to interview Jason Galanis, a former trading partner of Hunter Biden and Devon Archer, during the indictment of the GOP of the president of the time, Joe Biden.
“I did that with [Jason] Galanis, and the Democrats were really offended that we would like to interview anyone in prison. But now you know they are, they are everything they want to interview someone in prison, “said Commer.
The Committee has shown a propensity to record the video of the interviews and to publish content later – as did with several former Biden officials who invoked their rights to the 5th amendment this summer – it is therefore possible that there can be a deposit video.
In addition, the Attorney General Pam Bondi said Monday This assistant prosecutor Todd Blanche will meet Maxwell in the “days to come”.
President Donald Trump last week said last week on his social media platform that he had ordered to the Ministry of Justice to “release all testimonies from the Grand Jury with regard to Jeffrey Epstein, subject to the approval of the court”.
Commer also indicated that the circumstances of a camera deposition in a federal prison could attract both Democrats and Republicans to attend the interview.
“There will be so many members of the congress who want to be in this prison,” said Commer. “I assume that there will be many members of the surveillance committee of the two – in both parties who want to be there.”

A summons to the congress is an official legal order issued by a Congress Committee or an individual obliging his testimony.
David Oscar Markus, Maxwell call lawyer, said in a statement in ABC News that Maxwell “impatiently expected” to meet Blanche and that the meeting will inform how it takes place with the summons.
“As for the assignment of the congress, Ms. Maxwell is doing this stage at the same time. She is impatiently awaiting her meeting with the Ministry of Justice, and this discussion will help to inform how it takes place,” he said.
Markus also responded to the comments of the chamber president, Mike Johnson on Wednesday on Wednesday Wednesday, questioning Maxwell’s credibility as a witness.
“If they deem good to bring Ghislaine Maxwell for the testimony, that is good. I will note the obvious concern, the warning that President Comer and I and everyone could have to tell the truth? Is it a credible witness?” Johnson told journalists.
“We understand the general concern of the speaker Johnson – the congress should always examine the credibility of his witnesses. But in this case, these concerns are not founded. If Ms. Maxwell agrees to testify to the Congress and not to take the 5th – and that remains a great if – she would honestly testify, because she has always said, as she would not be afraid. preemptioned in a preemptri manner
