Another afternoon of strong precipitation on Thursday caused sudden floods in the mountain village of Ruidoso, in the New Mexico, forcing the closure of the roads and the rescue of at least five people trapped by rushed water.
The community in the south of New Mexico was in shock this summer, the afternoon thunderstorms bringing more rain than the surrounding mountain flanks cannot manage. The old forest fires have stripped the hills of trees and vegetation, leaving the Ruidoso region vulnerable to repeated floods.

The mayor of Ruidoso, Lynn Crawford, told CBS News that the city had significant floods, no deaths or injury reported on Thursday evening.
Video Published on social networks has shown a swept house and a large tree falling in the middle of the floods.

Ruidoso is located in the south of New Mexico. The mountain village is located about three o’clock in the southeast Albuquerque.
Residents shared videos on social networks that showed muddy water walls in streams and roads on Thursday, tearing a mobile home and turning the trees along the way. Authorities blocked traffic to keep vehicles out of the water while spectators were watching from higher land.
The forecasters of the National Weather Service have regularly issued flash-flood watches and warnings while the summer rainy season is in force. They reported Thursday that a section of Rio Ruidoso had increased to around 12.5 feet following the flood of the script.
Flood watches were also published Thursday for certain parts of the north of the New Mexico around the scars of burns left by the advanced flames of the Canyon 2022 hermit.
