During the fourth magic of the monsoon, torrential rains overnight in Lahore burnt the city’s highways, the heat and the intensity of the hub decreased and the weather was pleasant.
According to the Meteorological Department, Chowk Nakhda recorded the highest rainfall in 65 mm, in other areas, Laxmi Chowk 57, Airport 43, Water Pond 43, Jail Road 42 and 30 mm rainfall.
On the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Fat Lahore is fully active. The Provincial Minister of Housing Bilal Yasin has issued instructions to clear all the central highways and underpasses.
DG WASA has ordered all field teams and machinery to be prepared at all times, while MD WASA has directed that the generator should be placed on the generator standby at all settlement stations.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Moses Raza has directed all the disposal pumps to keep the pumps completely operational and keep their screen constantly clear.
He has instructed the Assistant Commissioners of all the tehsils to immediately monitor panding and squareing and ensure drainage.
Commissioner Lahore Zaid bin Maqsood has directed Wasa, LDA, MCL, CBD, traffic police and district administration to remain active in the area immediately. He says that all emergency teams are present at the points of the pigs and respond immediately.
The commissioner made it clear that emergency teams were active in making drainage possible in lower areas, main roads and nearby areas. All concerned departments have been instructed to ensure effective monitoring and immediate action in their respective areas.
