On March 11 this year, the Jaffer Express was attacked by gunmen in the Bollan area and took passengers hostage.

There were more than 400 people in the train, some of which were from Pakistan. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for the attack.

At least 18 security personnel, including at least 18 security personnel, were killed in the attack, while 33 militants were killed according to the Public Relations Department (ISPR) of the Pakistani Army Department.

After the attack, the Jaffer Express service was suspended for about two weeks and resumed on 27 March.
