A 9 -year -old child died following a trip in the promenade in Hersheypark, an water park in Pennsylvania.
“Tonight, a nine -year -old guest was tragically lost at the Hersheypark promenade,” said John Lawn, CEO of Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company, in a statement released on Thursday.

The park rescuers’ team saw a child in distress and launched an “immediate rescue, followed by continuous and coordinated efforts in the life of our rescuers, the first on -site stakeholders and the medical staff,” the statement said.
The child was taken to the medical center near Milton S. Hershey where he was declared dead.
Lawn said: “To each family that visits Hersheypark, know this: your safety and well-being lead each decision we take. We will invest in this tragedy and will honor the memory of this young guest by continuing to focus on the safety of our guests in Hersheypark.”
“Our hearts break for this child and the child’s family. We extend our deepest condolences for their loss,” he added.
He also said that they would launch an internal investigation and cooperate fully with the authorities.
No other details were published on the nature of the incident or how the child was in distress.
