The cards show cities in Florida in the face of a three -digit heat notice

Many cities will face a thermal opinion on Saturday while temperatures could rise in three figures, warns the National Weather Service (NWS).

Why it matters

Intense heat waves increase the risk of heat -related disease. Vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, children and people with chronic health problems – increased risks during extreme heat.

According to the NWS, even well -settled regions such as Florida must be cautious when temperatures and humidity push the heat index in triple figures, increasing the danger for residents and potentially effective public health systems.

What to know

The NWS warns the Northern Florida residents that the heat advisor is in place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday for Jacksonville and the surrounding cities.

“The heat index varies up to 110 expected,” said the opinion, with a warning that increasing temperatures can cause heat -related diseases.

“Drink a lot of liquids, stay in an air -conditioned room, stay outside the sun and check the parents and the neighbors,” said the NWS. “To reduce risks during outdoor work, safety and health at work recommends planning frequent rest breaks in shaded or air -conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat must be moved to a cool and shaded place. A heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.”

For the center of Florida, says the NWS, the heat advice is also in place for the same period and the values of the heat index could also reach 110 degrees for Orlando and the surroundings.
