Texas governor Greg Abbott called on a special session for state legislature on Monday to discuss emergency procedures and early alert systems following deadly floods earlier this month.
“We must ensure better preparation in the future,” said Abbott a declaration Published on social networks.
The session should start at noon at local time, according to A press release from his office.

More than 130 people were killed earlier this month while sudden historic floods torn the center of Texas during the fourth weekend in July.
In addition to three people who disappeared in Kerr’s county, three people still lacked in the county of Travis and a person listed as disappeared in Burnet County, according to the last update last week.

Abbott said on Sunday that the special session would discuss preparation and recovery in the event of future floods.
The agenda for Monday sessions should include discussions on flood alert systems, flood emergency communications, emergency funding and preparations and recovery of natural disasters, said Abbott.
The session that begins on Monday should also cover the legislation offering A Congress Rediscup plan, which could if they could be adopted, create more seats for the Republicans.
