SWAT inquiry report reveals police negligence and shortcomings

Along with the negligence of other departments in SWAT, the KP government admitted to tourist destinations in the province also questioned the police’s performance. On the day of the incident, the tourism police disappeared, there was no reception camp in the atmosphere.

According to the investigation report, a police vehicle was present near the hotel on the morning of 27 June, but despite the ban under Section 144, tourists were not stopped from entering the river. Tourism police was not present in this incident.

The report stated that 106 FIRs were registered for violation of Section 144, 14 FIRs were registered by the police and the remaining Assistant Commissioners.

According to the report, the police cannot provide any evidence about issuing security instructions to the hotels, the report recommends that the negligence of the SWAT police and non -non -pronounced of Section 144 should be taken and action should be taken against the officials concerned within 60 days.

The report recommends that a new system will be developed by removing flaws in laws and rules within 30 days, a new regulatory structure for buildings and security along the river should be implemented within 30 days and strict implementation of all existing laws should be implemented.

It has been recommended that the police should be instructed to ensure strict implementation of Section 144, the presence and warning sign boards of the police should be set up at sensitive places. A new mechanism should be created between tourism police and district police
