The man accused of having killed the supervisor of music “American Idol”, Robin Kaye, and her rock musician husband, Tom Deluca, in their Encino house would have called 911 after the crime, said the best prosecutor in the county, but it still took four more days to discover their bodies.
Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Nathan Hochman said the couple had been shot dead with their own weapon. The new details in the Kaye and Deluca killings were revealed during a meeting of the town hall on Monday in Encino, where hundreds of residents gathered to express its frustration concerning a series of recent burglary that turns the region.
The revelation raises questions about how the police managed the initial situation and when exactly they learned of the couple’s death.
Investigators believe that Kaye and Deluca entered Raymond Bodarian, 22, burning their $ 4.5 million home on White Oak Avenue on July 10, according to the Los Angeles police service.
Police alleys that Boodarian has entered the house – which is strongly secure, with a large wall and security cameras – through a unlocked door. After the couple’s return home, “a confrontation followed” and the suspect shot them on a bullet, the police said.
An affidavit of the search mandate filed by members of the San Fernando Valley Homicide Unit said that the police responded to two burglaries to the day of the couple’s death. The police filed the mandate for examining the images of the camera of the ring of the ring in a neighboring house that they hoped to have captured the break -in or the murders.
The first call arrived shortly after 4 p.m. on July 10, when an neighbor reported an unidentified man trying to enter the couple’s home, depending on the mandate.
About 40 minutes later, the police received a second call from someone at the home of the couple claiming to be a resident reporting that a suspect had interrupted. The operator of the 911 could hear the caller say: “Please do not shoot me,” someone told the mandate.
The appellant finally said that the police ‘response was not necessary and that the appellant attempts have failed, said LAPD communications director Jennifer Forkish.
The mandate does not clearly show whether the second call to the police came from one of the two victims or Bodarian standing as a resident. Hochman said on Monday at one point in the incident on Monday, the suspect called 911 and identified himself with the police. It is not known exactly what he said to the distributors during the call.
The authorities sent officers and a helicopter to the house in response to calls, which were linked according to the address, said Forkish, but they could not access the house and to leave.
“The police arrived at the scene and carried out a control of the surroundings and tried to visually check the residence through the security door. They tried to enter at two access points, but the two were locked and secure,” said Forkish in a statement. “The house was secured with the surrounding walls. The air ship visually checked the location and advised that there was no visible activity or evidence of shortage. After taking additional measures to contact people’s reports and residents of the location, the agents eliminated the premises. ”
Kaye and Deluca, who were both 70 years old, were found dead inside the house four days later when the police returned to the property for a well-being check after a neighbor called the police fears not to have seen or heard for a few days. The couple, whose bodies were found in separate parts, according to sources of application of the law, underwent several ball injuries.
This is the third time in recent months that the LAPD officers have been going to a place in the San Fernando valley after receiving a call to 911 and left, to return later to a homicide.
The body of Menashe Hidra was found on April 26 in his apartment on the fifth floor of Valley Village after an attacker burst into a neighboring unit, jumped from the balcony to the unit of Hidra and attacked it, the investigators said.
Three days earlier, the neighbors had called 911 and said they had heard and a struggle from the apartment. The agents answered these calls, struck the door and left without finding anything.
Erick Escamilla, 27, was finally accused of murderas well as a homicide not linked to 2022.
The same day that Hidra’s body was discovered, the police found the body of Aleksandre Modebadze, which was beaten to death in his house in Woodland Hills. In this case, a woman inside the house called LAPD around 12:30 p.m. and reported that three people had hidden at her house and had beaten his other significant before the call suddenly cuts sources of application of the law. The operator 911 tried to recall several times without success. Shortly before 1 a.m., the police arrived at home but no one answered the door, there was no noise from inside the house and the blinds were broken, the sources in Times told.
Modebadze was then found by poorly beaten police officers with a head trauma and finally died of his injuries. Authorities found suspect Modebadze killers a few hours after the incident.
Hochman said that in the case of Kaye and Deluca, the investigators were finally able to follow the location of Bodarian in pinging on his mobile phone.
Hochman told the crowd on Monday evening that as a life for life, twins were personal to him.
“The government owes you something and it is security,” said Hochman. “Robin and Tom did not experience security that evening. Security failed them. “
However, Hochman stressed that, given their injuries, the couple would not have survived, even if the police had found them the same night.
The killings seemed to be random, said sources of application of the law, but the investigators are looking for any link between the suspect and Kaya and Deluca, and if Bodarian was involved in calls to service at the White Oak Avenue residence.
Boodarian was arrested on July 15 and was detained without deposit at the Correctional Center for Twin Tours. He is accused of two murder leaders, burglary and special allegations for several murders, personal liberation of a firearm and murder while engaging in a flight.
Judicial files show that Boodarian has a history of alleged criminal offenses, including battery accusations, a deadly weapon and threatening to commit a crime with the intention of terrorizing. The accusations were then rejected after hearings linked to mental competence and guardianship.
