The Minister of State for Pakistan’s home senator Talal Chaudhary says that more than a hundred social media accounts of ‘terrorist organizations’ have been closed at the government’s request.

During a meeting with international media representatives on Thursday, the Minister of State for Internal Minister Talal Chaudhary said that the Pakistan government has requested thousands of social networking websites to block thousands of accounts during the last six months.

He said that “terrorist incidents in Pakistan have increased and better technology is being used in terrorism.”

Minister of State for Home Affairs Senator Talal Chaudhary told international media representatives that 181 social media accounts of ‘terrorist organizations’ have been closed at the request of the Government of Pakistan in the last six months.

He said that there is more information about it, “So far, requests to block or close 2417 accounts are pending while 1161 applications have been rejected.”

Talal Chaudhary said that operators of social networking websites are requested to block accounts run by terrorist organizations.

Minister of State for Law and Justice Akil Malik said that the government would request Pakistan’s social media platforms to open their offices in Pakistan for better contact.
