Islamabad:
Minister of State for Home Talal Chaudhary has once again emphasized that social media companies will have to remove terrorist material immediately through artificial intelligence (AI).
In his statement, he said that freedom of expression was not silent, but was building a wall against terrorism.
Talal Chaudhary said that Pakistan is a strong front against terrorism globally, Pakistan has discovered hundreds of social media accounts related to terrorism.
Recalling the international community, he said that the United Nations banned ISKP, TTP, while the US and the UK declared BLA a terrorist organization, but TTP, ISK, BLA and BLF are promoting and recruiting youth through social media.
The minister said that 2,417 complaints related to terrorism are under consideration on social media.
The Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Akil said that there is a punishable offense under the Terrorism and Publicity Pika Act.
The government of Pakistan has appealed for global cooperation against digital terrorism and demanded that data share and cooperation from social media companies. Pakistan also invited foreign social media companies to open offices in the country.
Pakistan has demanded social media platforms to close terrorist accounts, automatic blocking and access data.
