Several people injured in stabs at Michigan Walmart, suspect in detention, say those responsible

At least 11 people were injured in a “multiple stab incident” on Saturday in a Walmart to City City in Michigan, officials said.

A suspect is in detention, Michigan State police said on x.

Additional details on the incident were not immediately available.

Eleven people are treated at the Menson Medical Center, said Catherine Dewey with the medical center. She said the staff are still assessed the conditions of the victims and the nature of their injuries.

It was not immediately clear if there were more victims.

A state police spokesman could not specify if a shooting also occurred and was not sure that there were several suspects.

The Sheriff’s Bureau of the County Grand Traverse Investigation into the incident, the State police announced.

A Walmart spokesman said the company was working with the police and has reported questions to the authorities.

The FBI responds to the incident and is available to “provide necessary support for the Sheriff’s Bureau of the County of Grand Traverse”, Dan Bongino, Deputy Director of FBI, said on x.

Crossing City is around 255 miles northwest of Detroit.
