Lahore, (Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th July, 2025) Punjab Home Secretary Dr. Ahmed Javed Qazi chaired a meeting on Thursday, which chaired a meeting to review the progress on the jails of the growing development plans.

For a spokesperson, it was said in the meeting that 38 devils are running 34 in the provisions and new April schemes were running at a total cost of Rs 28 billion in Punjab jails. Of this, RS9 billion has already been used.

The schemes include new jails, prisoner barracks, hospital facilities, kitchen areas and modern visitor’s barriers. Along with the capacity of 2,000 prisoners, a major initiative in Sialkot is also being obstructed in a new district jail in Sialkot.

The Home Secretary directed the jail authorities to ensure that all development work was strictly completed on merit and under the Robstoor system.

He said that CM Punjab is personally overseeing the implementation of the agenda of jail reforms.

Dr. Javed insisted on following the principle of “criminals hating crime” and the principle of jail administration, which to adopt effective measures to adopt effective measures during the monsoon season for the prevention of dengue.

He reiterated that the government is committed to a zero-box policy against corruption and has directed the full company with the rules of jail rules of the Home Department.

The meeting was attached by IG Jails Mian Farooq Nazir, Additional Secretary Jails Asim Raza and senior officials, which was attended by regional Digs and jail superintendents through video links.
