There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Pittsburgh steelers before the 2025 NFL season. With Aaron Rodgers now the quarter-arre from the team and the other aggressive off-season moves that the team made, the Steelers should be a competitor of the Super Bowl.
Although the team also expects to be a competitor, you still have to answer questions.
Can Rodgers start again to be a superstar for Pittsburgh? Do Steelers have enough weapons on the wide receiver for him? Will defense be able to slow down other elite offenses around the NFL?

Outside Rodgers, the front office brought stars like Jalen Ramsey and DK Metcalf. Jonnu Smith was also acquired in the Ramsey trade. TJ Watt has also received a major contract extension.

Unfortunately, Pittsburgh could have undergone an injury at the end of the season during the training camp.
According to a report by Nick Farabaugh by Penn Live, the tight recruit and the back DJ Thomas-Jones fear having torn his Achilles during the practice of Sundy.
“Thomas-Jones was seen looking at his left foot or his ankle, and he had his shoe,” wrote Farabaugh. “Whenever he moved, he could not put any weight on his left leg. He was transported from the field and did not return.”
Thomas-Jones, who was signed by the Steelers as a free agent not drafted after the draft of the NFL 2025, was a player on which the team was high. Unfortunately, her season could be over before she even begins.
During his senior season for southern Alabama, Thomas-Jones captured 22 passes for 191 yards and three affected. He captured 27 passes for 235 yards and five affected in 2023.

Pittsburgh should be very good in the closed final position despite the injury of Thomas-Jones. The Steelers have both Pat Freiermuth and Smith at the post. Rodgers will still have two tight ends of the elite with which to work during the 2025 season.
Hopefully if the injury is a torn Achilles, Thomas-Jones will be able to recover quickly and completely without setbacks. He clearly had an impact early enough for Pittsburgh to be enthusiastic about his future.
Expect to hear an official report on Thomas-Jones in the near future.
