WW Industrial Group recalls the pear slices of the parashore brand in the juice due to the fears that the product can contain high levels of lead and cadmium.
Nowsweek Contacted the company by phone on Wednesday to comment and left a voice message.
Why it matters
High levels of lead and cadmium can cause significant health problems, especially in infants and children. The recall adds to a growing list of high -level food security actions, emphasizing the continuous importance of vigilant federal surveillance and in -depth product tests to protect public health.
Lead lead and cadmium are both toxic metals that can enter into food supply from environmental sources, such as contaminated soils or industrial by-products. According to the US Food and Drug Administration (Fda), exposure to lead poses particular risks for young children, whose development brain is very sensitive to neurotoxic effects. A high consumption of lead in early childhood has been linked to long -term problems affecting learning and behavior.
Cadmium contamination can result from the composition of the soil, industrial activities and certain manufacturing processes. Prolonged exposure to cadmium, in particular at higher levels of the provisional reference level of the FDA, can affect the renal function and increase the risk of bone demineralization. Although it is not possible to completely prevent cadmium from entering food supply, manufacturers are legally necessary to minimize and monitor these risks.
Many reminders were launched in 2025 due to the potential for damaged products, foods of food origin, contamination and unsuccessful food allergens.
Millions of Americans experience food sensitivities or allergies each year. According to the FDA, the nine “major” food allergens in the United States are eggs, milk, fish, wheat, soy, crustacean crustaceans, sesame, trees and peanuts.
