Informal and unconfirmed results have shown that PTI achieved four of the seven gene seats, which the opposition secured the remaining three. Murad Saeed surprised many by securing 26 votes except expectations.
Other PTI candidates have been selected in general seats, including Mirza Afridi (22 votes), Faisal Javed (21 votes), and Noor-ul-Haq Qadri (21 votes).
From the opposition, Maulana Atta-ul-Haq Darwish and Niaz Ahmed got 18 votes to each, while Talha Mahmood secured 17 votes to win their respective general seats.
In technical seats, Azam Swati of PTI cast 89 votes, while Dilawar of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) got 54 votes, which led both to win.
For two seats reserved for women, Rubina Naaz of PTI won with 89 votes, and Rubina Khalid of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was selected with 52 votes. Two votes were rejected during counting in these seats.
According to the Election Commission records, 25 candidates contested – 16 in 16 general seats, five in two technocrats and four candidates in reserved seats of two women.
Voting was done smoothly in the provincial assembly.
