Language is not just a combination of words or letters, it is the essence of the history, culture, identity and its existence of a nation. Attack on language is not just an insult, but the civilization, values and respects of millions of humans are directly included in themselves. Today, India is under the same poisonous evil, where linguistic prejudice is being used as a blasphemous political weapon to send the multi -regional and multi -spokes of social taunts of the country. The latest and shameful expression of this victory is the event in which the New Delhi Police has called Bengali language “Bangladeshi language” and has created a serious political controversy in the country.

On July 24, a letter from the in -charge to Banga Bhawan officer to Lodhi Colony Police Station Inspector Amit Dutt of Delhi Police exposed the bias. The letter was demanding a translator to understand the documents seized from suspected Bangladeshi citizens, but made a serious mistake to call Bengali a “Bangladeshi language”, in which West Bengal emphasized Trinumool Congress and CPM. The Trinamool Congress made a deliberate attempt to destroy the identity of the constitutionally recognized Indian language and demanded an apology. TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee called it a planned effort to defame Bengal by the BJP and destroy our cultural identity, saying that it was a direct violation of Article 343 and the eighth program of the Constitution. West Bengal Chief Minister Mumtabanarji also called the move condemnable, derogatory, hostile and unconstitutional. According to him, calling Bengali a Bangladeshi language, which is the language of Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda and our national anthem and national song are written in the same language, this Bengali language is an insult to all those who speak Bengali by calling Bangladeshi language. TMC demanded formal apology to Delhi Police, BJP and Internal Ministry and immediate suspension of investigating officer Amit Dutt. It was also alleged that it was an attempt to portray Bengali speakers as an outsider. The BJP’s response was to a defensive nature, an attempt to confuse the matter, stating that the police had arrested illegal Bangladeshi citizens and called Bangladesh their bid. Samak Bhattacharya, BJP president of West Bengal, said to the extent that the police called the bid of the arrested persons in Bangladeshi language, as it was different from the Bengali talk in West Bengal, a ridiculous and irresponsible statement. The controversy came at a time when Mumtbanji recently accused the BJP -government states of harassing Bengali refugees as ‘Bangladesh’.

This phenomenon is not just an island, but a wave of linguistic bias that is ready to swallow the unity of India. Its other end goes through an attempt to impose Hindi in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced a lot of two -two -prostitution on Monday, March 3, 2025, stating that DM’s Tamil Nadu would not allow Hindi to implement Hindi, even though he lost power, leaders and workers suffered jail and lost their lives. According to him, it was the first DM’s stable and its position has not changed. Those who say that Hindi is the national language of India and Sanskrit is the ancient language of the country, this claim is a false lie. Tamils have no hatred from any language, but the entire state opposed the implementation of Hindi on the pretext of policy of three languages. Mr. Stalin also strongly reacted to Governor RN Ravi’s claim that the policy of two languages has denied Tamil students of the opportunity to learn an additional South Indian language. He raised the question that how many states of BJP rules are teaching an additional northern Indian languages? It has been a continuity of linguistic conflict for decades of Tamil Nadu, where anti -opposition opposition has been going on since the 1960s, and the state is strictly based on its two linguistic policy (Tamil and English).

But at the root of all these linguistic hatred, there is a historical and bitter fact that is often ignored, it is an enmity with Urdu language. Today, most of those who are unhappy with the insult of Bengali or are raising their voice against Hindi supremacy are silent when they are born in India. Outside and only presented as the language of Muslims. This is the same Urdu that created millions of hearts by alive the revolutionary slogan on every milestone of freedom of movement. Hostility with Urdu began in 1867 when Hindu leaders of Banaras demanded to be an official language instead of Urdu and sowed the seeds of dividing the country on the basis of “Hindi, Hindu, India” shouting and sect. Today, followers of the same ideology are proving their narrow ideology by changing the Urdu names of cities, demanding ban on Urdu -Word advertisements and excluding Urdu from government institutions and educational systems. The irony is that the Supreme Court also described Urdu as a symbol of Ganga Jamni civilization, making it clear that Urdu is not the language of any religion, but a pure Indian language, but it is still being ignored at the government level.

It is a terrible view that is emerging in the environment of linguistic bias. The latest incident of Delhi Police is calling Bengali a Bangladeshi language, not only a tragic mistake, but a systematic mentality that is trying to erase India’s colorful linguistic tune. It is not only a violation of constitutional principles, but is also a direct attack on multilateral heritage at which the nation has been established. An hostility against Urdu for centuries and now trying to impose on Bengali and Tamil languages is a terrible evidence that this fire of bias is not limited to the same language. Today, if Urdu, which is the spirit of this land, being stuck and the identity of Bengali language is being erased, then another regional language will be affected tomorrow. From the strong trend of Tamil Nadu, the text should be learned that language is not only a source of dialogue, but a question of respect and sovereignty. This is equivalent to putting the security of the country at stake.

This conspiracy of linguistic hatred is like breaking India’s general heritage and weakening its federal structure. The power of India is in unity in unity. Every attempt to crush this diversity, whether linguistic or religious, is deeply injured on the spirit of the nation. The time has come to raise all linguistic and cultural units, who have become silent spectators so far, raise united voice against this poisonous politics. Because if the candle of Urdu was extinguished today and a great language like Bengali was declared a stranger, then tomorrow’s own lamps would not be safe. Linguistic tolerance and respect is the only guarantee of national solidarity and integrity.
