Islamabad, (Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 23rd July 2025) Pakistan National Disaster Management today announced that the toll has increased to 234 due to heavy monsoon rains since the end of June, 596 others injured, described the current season as “unusual”.
For local authorities, three people were killed and 15 remained missing after rain-inspired landslides in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan.
Police said several tourists were swept away in landslides, saving operations control in search of missing. Dozens of houses, bridges and other infrastructure were damaged.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has been warned of continuous risk of floods and landslides in the northern and eastern regions of the country.
