Pakistan, Bangladesh formed a team to promote cricket, umpiring and youth development

Internal Minister and PCB President Mohsin Naqvi met Bangladesh’s Youth and Sports Minister, Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Asif Mahmood on Thursday to meet a friendly and precursor-stricken discussion.

Islamabad, (APP – Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th July 2025) and PCB President Mohsin Naqvi met Bangladesh’s youth and sports, local government and rural development, Asif Mahmud, a friendly and Lokar for further discussion. The two leaders talked about promoting cricket, training umpires and to create togle work to create more opportunities for young people in both countries.

The negotiations resulted in a comprehensive agreement to strengthen bilateral cooperation in sports – especially cricket – and development of umpiring and youth -attached programs.

Given the meeting, the two sides agreed to signed a formal memorandum to promote cricket and understand the PCB and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to promote cricket and institutionalize training prongrams. Minister Naqvi invited the Bangladeshi umpires to Pakistan for professional training, underlining Pakistan’s desire to share technical expertise and resources for regional sports development.

A special focus was focused on increasing the cricket of women, both ministers agreed to develop a joint initiative aimed at nurturing women arteles in both countries.

In addition to the Games, the agenda extended the youth skill-defect, employment general and educational cooperation. Discussions included scholarship opportunities, higher education exchange programs and educational reforms included experience-songs.

The ministers also discovered cooperation in renewable energy -especially to mark the interest in solar power innovation -installed technology exchange.

Minister Naqvi also introduced Pakistan’s second identity infrastructure, highlighting the success and technological progress of Nadra (National Database and Registration Authority). Minister Mahmood expressed strong interest in the identity management systems of Pakistan and welcomed an invitation to the Bangladeshi delegation and visited Nadra. To carry forward this cooperation, a high -level Bangladeshi delegation is expected to visit Pakistan in the near future.

Emphasizing demographic similarities between the two countries, it was said that both the youth create most of the population. “By investing in sports, skills and education, we can create permanent opportunities for our young people,” he said.

The meeting indicated a shared comment to deepen the versatile relationship between Pakistan and Bangladesh, especially in sports diplomacy and youth development.

The Youth and Sports Ministry of Bangladesh were also present at the meeting, the secretary of Mehboob Alam; Secretary to the local government, Rezaul Maksud; Pakistani High Commission, Charge D’Fare of Muhammad Vasif; Mike Hessen, head coach of Pakistan cricket team; Team manager Neveda Akram Cheema; And senior officials of both sides.
