Pakistan and Bangladesh agree to promote sports

The Pakistan Cricket Board and the Bangladesh Cricket Board have agreed to an agreement between the two countries to promote the game.

According to a statement released by the Interior Ministry on Thursday, Pakistan’s Home Minister and Cricket Board President Mohsin Naqvi met with Bangladesh Minister with Bangladesh Minister Asif Mahmood to increase sports cooperation between the two countries.

Pakistani Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi is visiting Bangladesh these days and has met several top officials.

According to the statement, the two countries have agreed to sports, especially cricket propaganda and development programs of umpires, and Pakistan has invited Bangladesh umpires to train in Pakistan.

The statement said that a formal agreement will be signed between the cricket boards of the two countries to promote cricket.

According to the Interior Ministry, the meeting strengthens the hope of taking cooperation in the field of multilateral relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan, especially youth, sports, education and fresh energy.

According to the statement, Bangladesh’s Sports and Youth Secretary Mehboob -Lam, Secretary Local Government Raza Masood, Pakistani High Commissioner Nazim Alamur Mohammad Vasif, cricket team head coach Mike Hessen, Manager Neved Akram Chema and senior officials were also present on the occasion.

The meeting took place at a time when the Pakistan cricket team is visiting Bangladesh and playing a series of three T20 matches against the hosts.
