PAJCCI welcomes the signing of PTA by Pakistan-Afghanistan, calls for FTA agreement to promote regional trade

Peshawar, (Urdupoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th July, 2025) Pak -Faghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry Afghanistan aim to increase bilateral trade through tariff reduction on various apps.

Senior Vice President PajCI, Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi said, “PTA signing is a very welcome devil, which is in the midst of increasing trade amid signing free trading agreement (FTA).”

In the release of a press status here on Thursday, Zia Sarhadi, who is also Executive Member Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), said that the agreement to increase the economic crisis faced by the country to increase bilateral and field trade.

For this agreement, Pakistan will reduce tariffs at four ITMs, including grapes, pomegranates, apples and tomatoes.

Whereas Afghanistan will reduce tariffs on mangoes, oranges, bananas and potatoes. Previously, the tariffs on these examples were more than 60, but now it will be reduced.

This one-year agreement will be applicable on August 1, 2025.

SVP Pajcci hoped that signing the PTA will increase import and export in counties, which will benefit thousands of people

He appreciated the verdict and said that such a prudent approach should help in controlling the economic problems faced by the people in both counters.

Zia Sarhadi hoped that both Pakistan and Afghan soon agree that they agree to sign the FTA for tapping
