Dubai, (Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – July 23, 2025) With the approval of Education, Human Development and Community Development Council, the Ministry of Education (MAE) has announced a new history calendar for public and private schools in the UAE, which is effective for the academic year 2025-2026.
The new school calendar determines integrated dates for the beginning of the academic year, at the end of the three conditions and the end of the words. The calendar applies to all public and private schools across the country.
These updates aim to support family cohesion and provide a blissed learning environment to suit the goals of the ‘year of the community’.
The Education Minister, Sara Al Amiri highlighted that the new school calendar marks a qualitative change in the management of the community by creating a more blurred and socially connected educational system.
Al Amiri said that the calendar now serves as a strategic national tool, which strengthens both educational quality and social harmony. He also said that community, cultural and tourism institutions will be enabled to align their program with educational programs to include holiday dates, which prevent links between education and sociality.
The implementation of the calendar marks the beginning of the academic year 2025-2026 on 25 August 2025. The first term will end with a four-chill winter break from 8 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, with the schools being resumed on 5 January 2026. The second term lasts from 5 January 2026 to 15 March 2026, followed by a spring break from 16 to 29 March 2026.
Schools resume on 30 March 2026, except private schools in Sharjah, which return on 23 March 2026.
The Thunder Term begins on 30 March 2026 and ends on 3 July 2026, except Sharjah, where it ends on July 2026.
The new calendar introduces mid -term brakes to public and private schools after the government’s curriculum, which offers small brakes regularly to reduce academic protection. The first mid-term brake runs from 13th to 19 October 2025, which is an early stagnation during the longest time. The second breakfall between 11th and 15 February 2026 provides a mid -term recharge to students. The thread brake is scheduled from 25 to 31 May 2026, aligning with Eid al Adha Holiday. These short brakes aim to support students’ good and the time of the Stranger family through academic year.
The ministry has allowed private schools that do not follow the government’s course to schedule mid-term breaks in October and February, not each broken factor concepts. These brakes should live with months of speed and cannot be expected or cannot be transferred, the national calendar that needs operating requirements.
The MOE stressed that all schools follow the sanctioned calendar, including the final assessment or meeting the syllabus requirements in the last week of the affiliation, so that students can be included in the last school day. It excludes the grade that takes the pre-determined international examinations.
It was also emphasized that post -government course private schools should follow the centralized test calendar used in public schools.
