Congressman Mike Lawler said he will present himself to a re-election in his district of Hudson Valley House mid-term in 2026, renouncing an offer for the governor of New York.
Lawler was considering a government race, among the Republicans seeking to challenge the outgoing governor Kathy Hochul in the elections on the state of next year. But he declared in an interview on Wednesday morning that he intended to stay in the chamber representing the 17th district of the Congress.
“There is no doubt that Kathy Hochul is the worst governor of America,” Lawler told “Fox and Friends”. “But after months of deliberation on this subject and to really work, I decided that the right thing to do for me and my family and my district is to go to the re -election.
