An autopsy carried out on July 21 by Dr. Michael Sikirica at Glens Falls Hospital determined that Melina Frattolin, 9, died of asphyxiation due to drowning. The death mode has been deemed a homicide, although the final autopsy report remains awaiting laboratory analysis.

Monday, Luciano Frattolin, Melina Frattolin’s father, was arrested and faces accusations of the second degree and concealment of a human corpse after the discovery of the age of 9 years.

As part of the current investigation, New York State police are also asking for public aid to locate additional video sequences or accounts of eyewitness -linked to the Frattolin vehicle and his companion traveled between July 11 and July 19.

Authorities have published photos of the vehicle involved, identified as a Toyota Gray Prius 2024.

Investigators focus on the corridor of the I -87 Northway between outings 28 and 20, from Lake North Schroon to the Lake George region – in before the evening hours of July 19.
