Meeting with Field Marshal restored the trust of traders: merchant leader

According to leaders of various commercial and industrial organizations in Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has assured to resolve matters with comprehension on controversial provisions.

Leaders of the organizations met Field Marshid Asim Munir in Karachi on Tuesday, assuring FBR to resolve the interaction with direct and stakeholders.

Trade leaders told independent Urdu that ‘the trust of the traders has been restored after the assurance of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’.

Professional organizations across the country are protesting against the controversial sections 37A and B of tax laws, other ‘Anti -Business’ measures and 32 unfair enamings included in the Finance Act 2025.

On July 19, the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) called for a nationwide strike against these controversial provisions, in response to which traders of several markets of Karachi and Lahore closed the trade and registered a protest.

According to Kamran Rashid, president of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Optima), leaders of various commercial and industrial organizations attended a meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday, including the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and the industries of various cities, including the Federation of Federation of Federation of Federations.

Speaking to independent Urdu, President Optima Kamran Rashid said, “During a commercial and industrial delegation meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, he listened to all delegations very patiently and seriously and noted everything. The traders demanded that their demands be heard and resolved under the ‘Special Investment Facilitation Council’.

“After that, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir directed his team to hold a SIFC meeting soon. After that, a meeting with SIFC was held on Wednesday.”

According to Kamran Rashid: ‘According to the direction of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, a long meeting was held on Wednesday with leaders of business organizations with the Special Investment Facilitation Council. “But no one can talk about this meeting because those participating in the meeting have been instructed not to talk about the meeting.”

Kamran Rashid said that during a meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Commercial and Industrial delegation complained to the controversial sections of tax laws, in which FBR’s arrest powers Section 37AA, arrest of a person in case of arrest of a person, in the case of a law.

Kamran Rashid said, “In addition, traders have expressed their concern over Section 33 (13 and 13A), Section 11E (tax fraud or tax fraud, tax fraud or support, appointment of experts and auditors, Section 32B, and the appointment of experts and auditors has expressed their concern over Section 21S 21S.”

According to Kamran Rashid: ‘Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir assured that no businessman should be disturbed, which has restored confidence in traders.’

According to FPCCI Saqib Fayyaz Mags, senior vice -president of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), ‘business community was uncomfortable due to tax laws, but the trust of traders was restored by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

Speaking to independent Urdu, Saqib Fayz Mags said: ‘Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir not only assured to solve the reservation of traders on controversial provisions during the meeting, but also assured that no such business was affected.

“Field Marshal said that traders should not be disturbed, the trust of traders should be restored so that they can come from abroad.”

United Business Group (UBG) Pattern in Chief SM Tanveer thanked Field Marshal for his timely consultation and business community for goodwill, saying that Field Marshall had called FBR to interact with business community and resolve issues.

Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Etiif Ekram Sheikh said that traders with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were fruitful and the delegation welcomed the effective support of economic stability by the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

According to President FPCCI Atif Ikram Sheikh, the business community is grateful for the immediate instructions from Field Marshal Asim Munir. Under whom Article 37A and 37B of the Sales Tax Act 1990, which belong to arrest and detention, were temporarily suspended and FBR was directed to interact with stakeholders on a meaningful and resolution.

The delegation expressed concern over the recession of amending the Export Faculty Scheme to reduce the interest rate to improve business activities, and the implementation of 18 % sales tax on especially cotton and yarn from the plan and their imports. On this occasion, Field Marshal assured full cooperation. ,

According to Atif Ikram Sheikh: ‘Field believes in Marshall and they can restore investors’ confidence. ,
