Max Verstapin says the Red Bill owners to dismiss Christian Horner had a “right” but its decision would not affect its future with the team.
Horner was dismissed in early July after the British Grand Principal and Chief Executive of the team, with his dual roles, which, after 20 years of charge, suddenly, with the nature of the mid -season, was a major trauma after his 20 -year -old.
The decision came between the team with heavy speculations during the rule of the World Champion Versestapin four times, with many speculations that the Red Bill believes that getting rid of Horner can increase his chances of maintaining his Dutchman.
Verstapin said that before the Grand Prix of Belgium this weekend, the first race in which Horner’s change will take charge of Laurent Macaiz, Verstapin said he accepted the decision made by the team’s shareholders.
He said: “At the end of the day, the administration and the shareholders decided that they wanted change, and at the end of the day, they run the team, and I am a driver.
“So, whatever they decide, they have to do whatever they want in their favor. And that’s basically it happened.
“And at the same time, sitting here, you will look at these 20 years of the Red Bill, I think we have many, great years, great, great results.
“Naturally, there are years where it is not going so well, and I think how we will not like for the last one and a half years. And the administration decided that they want to move the ship in a different direction, maybe, and then everyone else has to agree and look forward to it.”
‘You need to make a difference in feedback’
An important factor in the dismissal of a major element of theories behind the Virtan camp was Horner’s troubled relationship with his star driver’s father Jose, who demanded that the British go out of the Brits during the 2024 season.
Versestapin eliminated the importance of differences between the pair as they were asked how this change could affect its future.
“No, it’s not really,” he replied. “I think there may be a difference between the opinion here and there, and I really expect it to happen, because if everyone always agrees, there is a problem. You need to distinguish your opinion.
“Now this is something with which we work in a different direction. I am excited about it.
“I do not think that in the future, IT IT will not matter. Finally, the only thing that matters is that we work on the car and make it as fast as we can make it.
“The last one and a half years were not where we want to be. Now we try to become more competitive, a little bit this year, but certainly with new rules.”
Virtan’s confession that he has a “decision” to follow his future, yet a formal agreement with the Red Bill should be made by 2028, after which reporters put them.
He replied: “It is also likely that I do not wake up tomorrow, that there is no driving.
“Life is unexpected. In general, I’m very happy where I am. And I will hope that … when we signed a new deal, we drove here until the end of our career.”
‘Horner always part of my other family’
Verstepen said his relationship with Horner “never changed”, adding that he considers a 51 -year -old man a part of his “second family”.
He said: “Of course I talked to the Christian. I even talked to him even today.
“So in this sense this relationship will never change from my side. We have experienced many things together in the team and, of course, big emotional moments.
“To me, the team feels like another family anyway and, of course, the Christian is involved.
“I am only incredibly grateful for all the moments we have been together and that at one time there is a time when someone is a Christian in the team or I am in a team. It happens.
“This happened at a time where many people probably didn’t expect it, but at the end of the day, I decided by the driver and the administration, and you have to continue.”
