The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to play the 2025-26 NBA season with Luka Donnteic and LeBron James in mind.
It is over time that James is the team’s franchise player. Donnic has already taken this role for the Lakers after being acquired before the commercial deadline last year.
During the offseason, there were rumbles that James is unhappy. His future with Los Angeles seems completely in doubt. Although he has a year left on his contract, the two parties could separate from the following off -season and James may need to find a new team in free agency.

Although the reports surrounding James and the Lakers were not positive, Donic has a very different vision of the 40 -year -old superstar.

In a recent interview in a baseball match between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays, Doncic sent a strong message to James.
He clearly indicated that he likes to play with James and that the longtime superstar welcomed him with open arms.
“It was an incredible experience. I always looked at him, the way he tackles the game, his professionalism,” said Doncic. “So when I came [to the Lakers last season]He accepted me with open arms. “”
There are major questions about the adjustment of James and Dononic. In the playoffs last season, things did not go well. Los Angeles was quickly eliminated by Minnesota Timberwolves in five games.
Even if there are questions about James and Doncouic as superstar duo, the problems were much more important than them. Los Angeles had trouble defensively and in the central position.

To help solve these problems, the Lakers signed Deandre Ayton after his takeover by the Portland Trail Blazers and also brought in the veteran defender Marcus Smart after his takeover with Washington Wizards. Jake Laravia was also signed shortly after the opening of the NBA free agency.
It will be interesting to see how Doncic and James play by each other during their first full year together. With a complete adjustment off -season, the hope is that the team will be much better than it did in the second half of last year.
At the very least, it is very clear that Doncic is a big fan of James and that there are no problems between the two players who could cause problems.
