Peshawar, (Urdupoint / Pakistan Point News-23rd July 2025) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandhapur on Wednesday inaugurated KP’s first state-the-art food testing laboratory green in Hayatbad.
The province’s first state-airte-art “Provincial Food Testing Laboratory and Research Center” was established at a cost of Rs 905 million.
This feature is its kind of static food test laboratory in the province, equipped with advanced machinery and modern testing capacity. Officials said the laboratory would provide scientific analysis of food quality and detection adulteration using state -of -the -art equipment.
The laboratory includes special classes in food microbiology, food chemistry and nutritional analysis, pesticides detection and micotoxin analysis.
It includes heavy metal analysis, dairy, meat, and edible oil tests, as well as capacity for sensory evaluation.
Designed under a roof, this feature includes eight dedicated sub-laboratory and is integrated with an online report system and a modern management information system (MIS).
The lab has the ability to tested more than 100 food items to about 1,500 parameters and meets international ISO standards. It can die of green chemicals such as Afflatoxin and Formalin, and Salmonella, Listeria, E. in microbial contaminants. Coli and mold are included.
Additionally, it allows testing for heavy metals in water and beverages, and advertisements, including fat, protein, moisture, ash materials and calorie value.
