Karachi:
Two suspects were injured and arrested in two separate encounters between police and road criminals in various areas of the city, while their allies managed to escape.
Police officers exchanged firing on patrolling at Ibrahim Hazari near Spine Road as armed suspects saw gunmen. One of the suspects was injured in a police firing, identified as Younus Walid Abdul Shakur.
A pistol has been recovered from the possession of the injured accused. The police have immediately transferred the accused to the hospital and his criminal records are being investigated.
According to the police, the accused’s partner managed to escape from the spot during the shooting, which is being held to arrest them at various places.
On the other hand, a firing between the police and the road criminals was also exchanged in the road number 11 of Sikhan.
Policemen on the petrol tried to stop the suspects, while the suspects started firing on the police. Another accused was injured in response to the police, who was identified as Usman Ali.
A pistol, mobile phone and cash were recovered from the possession of the injured suspect.
The police immediately reached the hospital for medical assistance, and the weapons recovered from its possession have been sent for a forensic test. The police have started investigating the criminal records of the accused, while raids are being conducted at various places to search for the fleeing accused.
