But just a blow behind, Justin Rose discreetly scripted one of the most convincing scenarios of the week. The 45 -year -old professional revealed on Saturday that he arrived at TPC Southwind against the disease.

“I stopped via Alabama for the weekend to see my trainer, Mark Blackburn, and I felt good,” Rose told journalists on the 3rd day of the championship. He continued: “I just went here on Monday evening and started to feel a little kidnapped. Tuesday, I went out here, I did not do a lot of training, I did not feel well. Tuesday evening, not good. Wednesday morning, a kind of fever, missed the pro-am.”

Despite the reverse, Rose opened the tournament with a 6-mine of 64, followed by a 66 a round 2, and a peer of 3 sous, 67 Saturday to enter solo second.

His third round was a mixture of upstairs and bogeys with holes n ° 9, 14 and 17. But the finish was vintage pink while he hunted a Birdie on the 18th to fill the gap on Fleetwood.

“In some ways, I do not know if that reduces expectations,” said Rose on Saturday when asked if things had started to turn around. “You just presented yourself and play golf as the match plan.”

Fleetwood, who is impatiently awaiting his first PGA Tour victory, congratulated Rose at the press conference after the tour on Saturday, declaring: “Justin (Rose) is somehow aggressive with the driver there and slicked the rough, but it is so difficult to play the golf course of La Rugueuse.”

Rose embarks on the last couple with Fleetwood at 1:40 p.m. on Sunday. Asked about the dynamics of playing alongside a nearby friend, Rose smiled and shared: “I knew it would be good to play with Tommy (Fleetwood) on Sunday. Tommy (Fleetwood) is probably happy that I play with him on Sunday rather than Scottie (Scheffler), so, so he was probably playing this bit, I imagine, just because it is a comfortable environment to play. “

On the same day, Rose also shared a position of Him and Fleetwood, the subtitrant: “Last week V this week !! must have been the 🍷 @ Tommyfleetwood1😉.”

As for the world n ° 1, Scheffler finished on Saturday which hides only two shots at 12 sous, with a Bogey throughout the day. Rose has recognized the upcoming challenge.

“100%, yes,” he shared at the same conference. “I knew that Scottie (Scheffler) had 12 sous. I had 12 sous the last.”

If Rose wins this Sunday, it would mark her 12th victory PGA Tour and her first since 2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

It would also guarantee its place in the BMW championship and potentially see itself locking automatic qualification for the Ryder Cup, where it is currently eighth in the European classification.
