The former head coach of Las Vegas Raiders, Jon Gruden, saw his share of quarters during his nearly four decades as a coach, so when he said that a current quarter of the NFL reminds him of the legend of the 49ers of San Francisco, Joe Montana, it made more than a few heads.
Despite his 117 career victories, the percentage of career victories of 0.511 and the Super Bowl championship, Gruden had been out of football since 2021, when he was quickly dismissed by the raid coach after he was revealed that he had used the racist and homophobic language in the emails when he still trained the NFL.
The 61 -year -old man was categorical about his desire to resume training, and his name was launched for some university jobs in the past 12 months – a proposal he said he was opened last September.
“Yeah, I’m interested in training,” Gruden told CBS Sports. “My father was a college coach, I was a college coach in Pitt … I know I can help a team, I know that I can help young players improve, and I know that I can hire good staff, and this is the only thing I can guarantee. But yes, I am very interested in training at any level, period.”

No NFL team had seemed willing to bring Gruden until the Saints of New Orleans hired him as a consultant in 2023, but this position opened the door to any other opportunity for the NFL.
However, Gruden appeared here and there in a few training camps as guests of Kansas City and Detroit Lions.
Gruden was in the Lions training on Monday, at that time that he had the revelation that there were a lot of similarities between Montana and Jared Goff.
“I hate making comparisons but the number, the continuous movement with which he plays, he always reminded me [Joe] Montana, “Gruden said, via Nolan Bianchi from The Detroit News.
“Since the days when I was with the 49ers – my dad trained to Notre Dame with Joe – but there is a similar personality, a similar style of play. He is a hard cat in his pocket.”

Gruden’s remarks can miss the brand for some.
The Goff curriculum vitae, which includes four pro bowls, five seasons of 4,000 yards and three seasons with 30 or more affected, is not compared to that of Montana.
The 49ers icon was a Bowler Pro, five times, quadruple Super Bowl champion, a MVP quarter of the Super Bowl, an NFL MVP and an attacking player of the year.
Although Goff may not be as accomplished as Montana, he is currently the highest seventh paid by the NFL ($ 53 million per year), and he has the second largest number of yards (16887), the fourth – the highest affected (115), the fourth higher level of passer (100.2) and the highest percentage of completion (67.9) since he has been become the lions.
