Japan-funded material and Child Health Center inaugurated in Jamashoro to serve 3.5 MLN people

A state -of -the -art material and the child health center was inaugurated on Friday at Liakat University of Medical and Health Sciences (Lumhs) in Jammashoro, a sign in Sindh in Sindh to improve healthcare for mothers and children.

Islamabad, (Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News-25th July 2025) A State-The-Art-A Cirt Material and Child Health Center was inaugurated in Liakat University of Medical and Health Sciences (Lumhs), which is an important step in rectifying healthcare access for mothers and children in Sindh.

For the Japan Embassy here, the project, “The Project for the Extension of Material and Child Health Care Facility in Sindh,” titled, has been completed with a generous of about 4.1 billion yen from the Japanese government. The new feature is, two of the two most populous details of Dakshin Singh are expected to benefit about 3.5 million inhabitants from Hyderabad and Jamashoro.

The inauguration ceremony was attached to the inauguration ceremony including Japanese Ambassador Pakistan Shuchi Akmatsu, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Provincial Health Ministry Azra Fazal Pichuho and Naoki Miyata, Chief Representative of Jika Pakistan Office.

The modern department for Obstricics and Pediatrics, as well as labor room, newborn and material-fetched ICU, outpatient counseling room, and equipped with clinical laboratories, the center is fully equipped with necessary medical devices, including ultrasound devices and newborn incubators.

Ambassador Akamatsu, which connects the event, said, “This feature brings close necessary medical services and provides quality healthcare to mothers and infants on time, which they deserve. Will be durable and effectively used.”

JICA chief Naoaki Miyata said, “This project will contribute to reducing material and child mortality in Lumhs and ensuring more and more for healthcare in Sindh.”

In his comment, Dr. Azra Fazal Pichuho increased the rapid shortage of special material and child health facilities Sindh. He said that the new center would help reduce the burden on turtari hospitals in Karachi and Hyderabad, which are investigating liveseding intervention for weaker population in rural and underscreed areas.

The government of Japan and JICA have preferred material and child health in their devil strategy for Pakistan and reiterated their continuous support for initiative with the aim of increasing public health results.

The project is a milestone in Pakistan-Japan cooperation, re-presenting shared commitments for human development and sustainable healthcare infrastructure.
