Islamabad, (Urduupoint / Pakistan Point News – 26th July 2025) The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has entered its traffic enforcement efforts through a drone survey, punishing 200 drivers alone in the last one week for various violations of Federal Capital.
A public relations officer told the APP on Saturday that legal action was taken under the rules.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) captain (RTD) Syed Zeeshan Haider Haider Haider Haider Haider Hyder said that this is the first time in Pakistan that drone technology is being used in real -time to supervise traffic prolestions.
He said that the drone captured clear evidence of crimes such as red-light violations, unfair lane changes and careless driving on the major roads of Islamabad.
The footage enabled early identification and action against the violations.
He said that the use of this advanced technology is strengthening the impact of Islamabad’s integrated traffic system and enforcement efforts. He said, “This system is a milstone in modern policing and is an important step in promoting respect for traffic laws among citizens,” he said.
The ITP has vowed to expand the drone monitoring program to increase road safety in the coming weeks and reduce the city violations.
