Spokesperson National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned of possible threats due to monsoon rains in different parts of the country till 25 July.
According to the spokesperson, due to heavy rains in northern regions, there is a possibility of slipping of land and flooding of glasses lakes. The affected areas include Rishun, Brape, Boney, Sardar Gol, Thalo, Hanracch, Durkot and Ashkuman.
According to the NDMA, water flow in the Indus, Chenab, Jhelum and Kabul is likely to increase, while the chainb is expected to flood from the lower levels of the Marala, Khakhi and Qadirabad to a lower level.
In Jhelum, the flow of water in Mangala and Kabul in Novashera is also expected to increase. In the Indus River, the water level is reported at Tarbela, Kala Bagh, Glasses, Tunasa and Gadu Barrage.
The spokesperson said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was in danger of ups and downs in Swat, Panjkora and other rivers, while Gilgit -Baltistan may have floods, Chinese and rivers floods.
There is also a danger of sudden flood (flash flood) in Shamshal, Hosha, Salturo and nearby areas. In Balochistan’s Jhob, Sherani, Sibi and Moses sports areas, there is also a possibility of river drains.
According to the NDMA, the highway of Karakoram and Babusus is closed due to slipping of land from both sides. The spokesperson warned tourists to avoid traveling to the hilly areas till 25 July.
