The Hulk Hogan professional wrestling icon has died, police and the world of global wrestling said on Thursday. He was 71 years old.
The first speakers were called to the beach of Clearwater, Florida, which houses Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, around 9:50 am on Thursday, police announced.
“The nature of the call was for cardiac arrest,” the Clearwater police service said in a statement. He was taken to Plant Morton hospital, where he was declared dead.
“WWE is saddened to learn the WWE renown temple, Hulk Hogan has died,” said WWE A declaration published on social networks. “One of the most recognizable personalities in pop culture, Hogan helped WWE obtain worldwide recognition in the 1980s. WWE exercises condolences to the family, friends and fans of Hogan.”
