HRCP expresses concern over the deteriorating human rights situation in Punjab

Lahore:

Pakistan’s Human Rights Commission (HRCP) has expressed concern over the situation of deteriorating human rights in Punjab.

In its annual report on human rights, the Commission highlights political unemployment, atrocities against minorities and the ongoing violence against children and women.

According to HRCP, the number of voters’ registration and casting votes increased in the 2024 general election, but overall voting was observed.

To prevent PTI protests, roads, violence and discrimination against religious minorities, a Christian citizen died in Sargoda, who died on a mob, on charges of condemnation, 9 people died on the Quetta-Dispute Highway, killing seven Punjabi activists and murdered.
