Earlier this year, I shared the first post in my intelligence and happiness entertaining series, “How to host a casual dinner party.” This series is a collaboration between me and my friend Lisa. Both fond hosts, we wanted to share ideas for entertainment that are acceptable and special at once. I am very excited about our second recreational series installment: The Desert Party!
Life is full in weeks to the end of the year. Finding time to join with friends and family can fall from the path, especially for those in a season when young children are part of their routine.
Since working on this series, I learned the happiness of planning ahead. It is very easy to think about the ways to cut back on labor and make things special when you are not running on impromptu plans. Lisa and I wanted to keep a menu together that would work for an afternoon meeting – with the afternoon time, but with the dessert. The concept is handing you to friends and responsibilities to friends, which are both collaborative and fun!
What is a sweet party?
The idea of a sweet party is to enjoy sweets and snacks with friends or family. The menu can be casual and the charge can be divided between guests, so everyone makes something to share. This entertaining idea is perfect for the holiday season but it can be executed at any time of the year.
The beauty of such a party is that it is completely flexible. This can happen in weekend or evening. Guest list can be intimate or large. You can sit around a dining table or – as we did – just gather around a coffee table in the living room. What is our sweet party here.
Come for … a sweet party
Guest list
Our sweet party was six people in the guest list, including themselves. I invited some friends who like to bake and some friends who will bring salty snacks. I think there are six right numbers, but such a party works well to scale the guest list up or down.
Menu
Because sweets are very enjoyable, we designed the menu to include both sweets and charming behaviors. Lisa developed each sweet dishes. Some menu items require more time and skill; Others require a bus store travel. Three people cooked the dessert, three people collaborated on the Charcoti Board, and I provided bubbles as a host.
For drinks, I recommend going with something special to drink everyday like Bilkart Brut Rose or Il Mosto Friste Bianco. For those who try dry wisdom pipi.
What did our menu look here:
- Ricotta Olive Oil Cake With Cardamom, Orange and Pistachio Butter
- Whipped breeted pear with frosting and cinnamon oat Kerbal
- Zesty orange and chocolate shortbread cookies
- Charcoti board
- Bubble
Schedule
Almost everything can be done before time, so the finishing touch party day comes together very easily. For this type of party, you can include your friends in each prep tasks, such as:
- Assemble Charcuterie Board
- Pear
- setting the table
- extinguishing of fire
- Light candles
- Beverage
- Putting on a playlist they are loving
With such casual parties, feeling each with each one finds everyone relaxed and comfortable in your home. Plan to sit about 30 – 45 minutes after everyone arrives.
If the process of presenting an associate is not your kind, then set the coffee table in front of your table (or if you have one), make a fire, light candles, and put on a premature playlist. Once we come, drink friends, and invite them to contribute to the table. Once when everything is mounted, each person shares a small note about what they brought, such as those who were found in the delicious new cheese market, the process of pipe the frosting on the cake, etc. I have talked about food with friends who care about food.
Sweet parties are small – this is one with my friends for two hours (from 2 to 4 pm). We enjoyed a warm fire in the golden hour at our house and came home one or two hours before dinner. Ways of farewell, each of us went with his busy days, one person left for work, the other was going to the grocery store, and the other was going home to start dinner.
I love sharing food with friends easily fits in daily life.
More to come there! This entertaining chain will continue in 2025. We want to host a no-kuk lunch, a meal out, and an acceptable fancy feast with other ideas. Stay!
