New Yorkers are expected to prepare for another high electricity bill next month because another wave of heat and humidity is expected to wrap the city this week.
The National Weather Service published a heat notice for New York on Monday and Tuesday which warned against the values of the heat index of up to 105 degrees Fahrenheit.
“These conditions are dangerous for health,” said NYC Alert’s notification. The most risky people are those without air conditioning, people with chronic health problems and people working outside.
The heat will begin to build one night on Monday morning on Monday morning and will continue until at least Wednesday, with heat opinions in place for the next three days, the National Weather Service said in a discussion on forecasts in the region.
Heat reviews are also in place for New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts, said NWS.
Heat indices in the south of Jersey, near Philadelphia, should go from 100 to 105 degrees, with the potential to be higher, said a discussion on the NWS region of MT. Holly, New Jersey.
BOSTON – Also under thermal opinion – should face heat indices in the 90s from the middle to superior, according to the NWS.
Heat will infiltrate south and further west on Monday, with potential temperature records in Gainesville, Florida; Denver; New Orleans; and Charlotte, North Carolina.
A cold front will move on Wednesday evening, bringing with its possible showers, to break the hot start of the week, said the NWS discussion.
In total, 123 million people are under thermal alerts during the first half of the week, with a few alerts in force at least Wednesday.
The heat moved to the plains and southeast of the United States on Sunday, with conditions that feel 110-115 degrees.
Many cities were less than 3 degrees of a daily record temperature on Sunday afternoon, including: Denver; Savannah, Georgia; Jacksonville, Miami and Orlando, Florida; Charlotte; And Charleston, South Carolina.
