Haj policy approves, official applications will be received from August 4: Minister of Religious Affairs

Religious Affairs Federal Minister Sardar Yusuf said in Islamabad on Wednesday that the federal cabinet has approved the HAJJ Policy 2026 and applications for the government HAJJ will be received from August 4, 2025.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Sardar Yusuf said that the current Haj quota of Pakistan is one lakh 79 thousand 210, but Saudi Arabia has been finalized so far.

He said that one lakh 19 thousand 210 seats have been allotted for the government scheme, while 60,000 seats have been allotted for private Haj.

Describing the official Haj package, he said, ‘A traditional long package of 38-42 days and a short package of 20-25 days will be provided for the official Haj scheme.

“Children below 12 years of age will not be allowed this year.”

At Haj expenses, he said that the outstanding arrears will have to be presented in two episodes, while the government will be estimated between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 12 lakh, which is subject to the final approval of contracts with service providers.

The first installment of HAJJ expenditure can be presented by any specified bank from August 4.

He said that in view of Saudi Arabia’s deadline, pilgrims will be selected on the basis of ‘First Come First’.
