External pressure was not accepted on ending war with Pakistan: Indian Defense Minister

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday that New Delhi ended its military dispute with Pakistan in May as all its objectives were achieved.

He said that India did not accept any pressure. He also dismissed US President Donald Trump’s claim that he created a ceasefire.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was addressing the beginning of a debate in Parliament, which was about an attack on tourists in the Indian -Adhivark Kashmir on 22 April, killing 26 people.

The fight with Pakistan began after the death of the tourist in the Pahalgam attack in May, which lasted for four days.

Rajnath Singh said, “India stopped its operations because whatever political and military objectives were determined before and during the struggle, they were fully acquired.”

“To say that the operation was stopped under any pressure, baseless and absolutely wrong,” he said.

Rajnath Singh’s remarks came to light when the Indian Army said that it killed three people during a serious confrontation in Indian Kashmir on Monday.

Indian TV channels said that men were suspected to be involved in the April attack. Reuters could not immediately confirm this information.

The attack in Kashmir was the worst attack on citizens since the 2008 Mumbai attacks in the country.

New Delhi convicted Islamabad for the attack. However, Pakistan denied participation and demanded an independent inquiry.

In the latest controversy, fighter jets, missiles, drones and other weapons were used by both sides, resulting in dozens of deaths.

Later, Trump announced that the two agreed to the ceasefire.

Pakistan thanked Trump for the agreement, but India said Washington had no role in it and New Delhi and Islamabad agreed to end the fight.

Opposition parties in India said that the intelligence and failure in arresting the government attackers behind the Kashmir attack are the cases they will raise during the debate in Parliament.

He also criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for coming under pressure from Trump and agreed to end the fight.

Pakistan claimed that it killed five Indian aircraft in the fight.

India’s most senior general told the Reuters that India had initially suffered air loss, but he avoided provoking the details.
