“Because Erik is in prison, there are often complications and delays with medical care, so it continues to be a very stressful moment for us as you can all imagine,” she wrote. “He is currently suffering and feels nauseous, but recovers.”
Lawyer Mark Geragos said on Tuesday that Menendez had been diagnosed with “serious medical condition” But did not provide additional details.
Erik Menendez, 54, and her older brother, Lyle Menendez, 57, were originally sentenced to life prison for the murder of their parents. But the men were sentenced to 50 years for life after a judge determined that they did not pose “unreasonable risk” if they were released.
This made the brothers immediately eligible for parole.
